Fecho and a Pencil--(with apologies to Lydia Davis's Foucault and a Pencil). In Summer Institute. Got this assignment to read Fecho on wobbling. Got home with crazy reading handout. Sat on couch. Opened pdf and daybook. Grabbed a pencil. Thought about where to start. Daughter's cat jumped on computer and pulled off the H key. Figured I didn't need it. Had pencil and daybook. Wasn't sure how to write in daybook. Could I continue to ignore the red line. Or was it a boundary. A foundational necessity. Got distracted by Twitter feed. Wondered if anyone would read my blog. Started reading Fecho from the end. Dropped my pencil and daybook. Found backward reading too complicated. Opened daybook and picked up pencil. Wondered what wobble meant. Does wobble presume a foundational concept? Cat pushes "H" key under the couch. Made connection to common core. Wobbled, trying to type a message to Skype. Needed the "H."

Thank you for that movie into your reader's mind, distractions and all. I'm so glad that other people are distractable. I love this way of thinking, reading, and writing - just letting thoughts flow in a risk free environment knowing that people are listening and nodding in agreement. It is a wonderful place to be. "Everything is connected in some way." by Lil - this rings true for me in so many situations, its almost frightening.
